しかしなぜ、トランプ批判から「共和党を辞めた」と宣言した途端、手の平を返したように「ではヒラリーに投票するのか」と応酬が殺到するのか、私にはよく理解できない。長い間、オバマ氏とクリントン女史に対する批判を続けてきたパイプス先生ではないか。
アメリカの大衆性の嫌なところは、そのような二項対立的な即物的単純さだ。でも、今の日本でもそっくりな言動をしている人々が増えている。トランプキン現象は、日本の映し鏡でもある。
